FROM THE PRESIDENT:

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

November is a month of Thanksgiving so I’ll place my emphasis in this direction. October was a very busy month for many of us participating in the General Assembly Meeting where we inducted nine new members into the lodge. We are thankful for their support and hopeful that they will be active in lodge activities. The following Saturday was the Columbus Day Parade (see photos).  Many thanks to Brother Tony Palucci and Sister Jen Rubé as well as all those members and their family and friends who helped us show our pride in our Italian American heritage to the community by decorating and riding in the vehicles.  Thanks also to Brother Louis DeCarolis and the committee that organized the parade. 

The following week was our annual Christopher Columbus Dinner Dance which was a huge success.  Thank you to Sister Eunice and her helpers Brothers Joe Dipasquale, Joe Vazzana, Joe Berta, Louis Giambra and Pat Sculli and Sisters Ann Vazzana, Susan Berta, Mary Ricci and Shirley Sculli for making the event such a success.  As you know, we were honored to have New York State Grand Lodge President, Nancy DiFiore Quinn and her husband, First Gent John Quinn with us and we thank them for making the trip and rekindling some fond memories both at the dinner dance and the following day at brunch. Thank you to all our honored guests for being in attendance and for sharing the evening with us.  I want to give special thanks to Judge Frank Affronti who did a super job in being our Master of Ceremonies as he puts a lot of effort into being sure everything runs smoothly.  Please enjoy the photos in this newsletter and visit our website to see more of them.

November is here and our main event this month will be the Turkey Raffle Dinner on November 12th.  Thanks to Sister Jen Gugino for organizing this.  I hope to see you all there and that you will bring family and friends along to enjoy another special event.

We will be having our regular board meeting on Thursday November 6th at CASA ITALIANA.  All of our board meetings will be there from now on unless you are notified otherwise.  Also, in keeping with our original plans for the Turkey Raffle Dinner we will NOT be having a General Assembly meeting in November.  Our next GA Meeting will be on December 11th at Casa Italiana where we will once again be inducting several new members.

In closing, Nancy and I wish all of you and your families a very Happy Thanksgiving as we of Italian descent have so very much to be thankful for on this day and always.
