FROM THE PRESIDENT:

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

First of all, my thanks to Mary Ricci and her "Committee" for the excellent Installation brunch at Midvale Country Club earlier this month and of course, our thanks to Brothers Mike Cutillo and Joe Berta for conducting the ceremony. Now that the new Board is in place it is time to roll up our sleeves and work on making this a banner year for our Lodge.  We have several activities to work on and the opportunity, if the membership is interested, in adding some new ones.

As you all know, I am very interested in getting our members involved directly, especially the new ones. Speaking of our new members, as well as some of our older members who have not frequented our meetings and activities, let us remember that when they do come to any function they should be welcomed with open arms and made to feel as much a part of the Lodge as our more seasoned and active members. There is a reason we use the titles of Brother and Sister for our fellow members. Some say we are cliquish but I don't believe that should be apparent at our functions.

Although April is the month of Easter, our focus will also be on genealogy and families. At our April General Membership meeting (REMINDER:  WEDNESDAY APRIL 8th ) Sister Nancy and hopefully, some of our other genealogy "experts" will help you get started. If you are interested in pursuing your family research after our workshops at the meetings, Sister Nancy works at the Family History Center and can help you get the films from Salt Lake City and show you how to use the equipment. I also would like to put together a membership map showing the location of all your ancestors' towns and villages. If you develop a real interest in your family ancestors perhaps you will want to join POINTers (Pursuing Our Italian Names Together) just as several of their members have joined our Lodge.

This weekend Sister Jennifer and I will be attending the State Leadership Session in Farmingdale, Long Island and I'm sure we will bring back some valuable information. The State Convention is in June - our members should think about which charities we will support this year and if there are any issues you would like us to take to the Convention.

Buona Pasqual” from Nancy and myself to all of you and your loved ones

    Fraternally yours,
     Brother Joe Rubé
